Southern Cayuga Instant Aid (SCIA) is a private, not-for-profit ambulance agency located in southern Cayuga County, New York. Established in 1968, its mission is to provide prompt, high quality pre-hospital emergency care and ambulance transport services the towns of Genoa, Scipio, Venice and a portion of Ledyard, NY.
In addition to emergency transports, SCIA provides on-scene stand-by services at structure fires and other potentially hazardous incidents in partnership with the three fire districts located in the service area. SCIA provides on-site emergency medical services for school sporting events, town festivals, parades, and other large gatherings. The agency also provides back-up service to ambulance agencies in neighboring communities.
